What is the Admission Procedure At Feathertouch?

We follow the “First Come, First Serve” principle for admissions. There are no admission tests and interviews since we understand that the small children should not be subjected to these practices.

We have different programs at our centres, starting from Day care programs from 4 months of age onwards.The ideal age of admission to play group is 18 months. For Pre KG/Nursery, we admit children from 2 years 10 months as on June.

What To Expect On Your Kids First Day At School

For all children enrolled to the day care and Play school programs at Feathertouch International ,On their first day, one of the parent can accompany the child. Check out what interests the child. Once you identify that your kid is taking interest on any specific activity and gets busy with the same, you can leave. Please note that your child may cry as soon as he/she realizes that the parent is not around. If we find that the child is crying continuosly, we will immediately call you.

Is There Any Uniform ?

We dont follow any specific dress code, except for the Pre-KG programs. But inorder to maintain the decorum at our play schools, we recommend the following. Children should be neatly dressed. Please dress your child in a comfortable, clean and easy to take off clothing (for the bathroom). Keeping a spare dress is advised. Children must not wear any gold jewelry or bring any valuable item to school. School will not be responsible for losses.

What Are The Parental Responsibilities?

Children who come with you or an adult authorized by you must deliver them to our staff. Your child will be sent only with the adult who will possess the authorization from the parents. If not, he/she will not be handed over. Please notify the staff if your child is going to be absent for any reason. If the child is absent due to illness or any other reason for more than 3 days, parents are requested to inform via phone or notify us in writing. We encourage parents to visit the centre often. Your feedback and suggestions help us deliver better. In addition to the declared holidays, our centres may be closed on account of governent holiday declarations, strike etc. Parents are requested to avoid speaking to teachers during class time. You may speak to the centre manager and fix a meeting time to interact with teachers. Otherwise we organise periodic Parent Teacher Meetings (PTM). Whenever there is an immediate need to contact parents, we will be trying on the numbers provided by you. You should also provide alternative numbers, incase both parents are not accessible at times in their updated phone no. Please update the office regarding any change in your contact details in the interest of safety of your child. All special instructions has to be notified to the management well in advance through e-mail. We will be updating important announcements in the diary. Please check it daily. Children should be dressed in comfortable clothes.

Do You Provide Food To Daycare Children?

At our centres, we provide your children with healthy food preparations, recommended by nutrition experts. We have well experienced chef at our centres to prepare the food. Meals/snacks are served 4 times a day. The menu for each week will be shared with you in advance. You may send home cooked food in addition to what is provided at our play schools. Please avoid chips and chocolates to school.

Can We Do Birthday Celebrations At The Play School ?

Yes. You can celebrate the birthday of your child in at our centres. You can bring the cake to be cut, after lunch hours.. The child can bring chocolates to distribute among their class. Any kinds of gifts to fellow child/teacher are strictly not entertained.

Is There Any Policy On Personal Belonging Of Children?

We don’t entertain children bringing personal belongings and other valuable items to our centres. Our management and staff will not be responsible for any valuables lost. We take no responsibility for the same.

Do You Provide Medical Help?

We will intimate the parents immediately in case of any emergency. We are tied up with major hospitals around our locality for medical assistance. But we don’t administer any medicines to your children on our own, without your instructions. Please use the medicine administering forms available at the centres for medical instrictions. For normal injuries, we will provide first aid.

What Is The Children To Teacher Ratio?

We have a healthy ratio of employee to children at our centres. While we will have 1 teacher for every 8 child for academic programs, we will have 1 staff for every 3 to 5 children depending on age group for dayacare programs.

What Is The Language For Communication?

While English is the medium of communication, we have employees from all backgrounds. We have people who can communicate in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi. Your child will never need to struggle to get adjusted with a new languages as we have people who can comfortably converse in their mother tongue till they settles down.

What Is The Age For LKG Admissions In Karnataka?

We are registered with Department of Education for our academic programs. As per the new guidelines for the 2016-17 academic year onwards, a child must be aged 3.10 years for LKG and 5.10 years for Class 1 as on June 1 of the corresponding year.

Can I Enroll My Child At The Middle Of Academic Year?

Yes, you can enroll your child whenever there is a space available.

Do You Allow Parents To Visit Their Child During The Day?

Yes. We have an open door policy. All parents are always welcome to visit their child’s classroom during the day.

Do You Have Trained Staff In case Of An Emergency?

Yes, atleast four staff members at every centre are certified in First Aid and Emergency Response . One of them will be a qualified nurse.

Is it safe to send my child to daycare during COVID-19?

Our centres take adequate precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Whether you can send your child to daycare or not depends on many factors. It is advisable to stay at home if you have an option. You should not send your child to daycare if you reside in a COVID containment zone. If any member in your family has a travel history outside the city you live, you should observe a minimum of 14 days of home quarantine before sending your children to daycare. Not to mention, if you or your child has any visible symptoms like Fever, Cough, Running nose etc you should stay at home. Always consult a paediatrician.
