Surprise your kids with these lunch box ideas!

A great tiffin box will energize and boost your child’s mood and day. Handling kids’ taste buds is a tricky issue. While at times they might be excited to have lunch, sometimes getting them to eat a bite might be a challenge.  Plan their meals in advance for the week with these creative lunch box ideas.  They are sure to love it.  The smile and excitement on their faces will be worth all your effort J

Instant coleslaw sandwich

Peanut butter sandwich, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cheese and jam sandwich.  They must’ve had it all.  Now it’s time to surprise them with a different one that is quick and easy to make.

Cut cabbage and carrots (you could add in other vegetables as well) and add mayonnaise. Add a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of sugar and a little pepper.  Mix everything well and check the taste to ensure that the salt, sugar and pepper is added as required.  The stuffing is ready.

Take a bread slice and spread some butter on it.  Now spread the stuffing on the slices.  Cover the slice with another bread slice and cut the sandwich into four triangles.  You could serve the coleslaw sandwich as it is or along with some french fries.

Bread Cup Pizza

All you need is a muffin tray.  Place bread slices in the shape of the cup and fill the tray.  Add lots of vegetables along with salt and garlic.  You could do the seasoning as per your child’s taste.  Add grated cheese and place it in the oven for ten minutes.  After it is baked serve it with ketchup.

Cheese and macaroni

This creamy pasta is not only filling but also tasty.  Your child is sure to love this one!

Boil pasta for ten minutes and keep it aside.  In a pan melt butter and add plain flour.  Cook the floor for a few minutes.  Whisk in 2 cups of milk and make a smooth sauce.  Add half cup of cheddar cheese and one teaspoon of chicken stock powder. Once the cheese and sauce are mixed well, add the pasta and stir it.

Maggi  masala rice

Kids demand maggi often right? But they aren’t supposed to be having it often.  How about a twist in the recipe to give it a healthy touch?

All you need is the tastemaker.   Heat oil in a pan and add cumin.  When it starts to sputter, add onions and tomatoes and sauté for a while.  Add chopped vegetables such as carrots, peas, capsicum, and cauliflower.  Add salt and pepper. Now add the cooked rice (1 cup) and maggi tastemaker.  Mix it well and garnish with coriander leaves.

Happy Lunch Boxing!
